Randy Stubbefield

Randy is our bass player and a great singer as well.  He has such a great way of reaching our audience with

his heart felt vocals that everyone relates to.

Randy lives just outside of Jennings, Oklahoma. He was born and raised in Texas where he developed his love for country music. He remembers as a kid his dad always had country music playing at home. "Dad always had a stereo set up with a speaker mounted in every room of the house and outside, and I remember singing along with just about every song he played." As a teenager Randy started listening to what is known today as classic rock, but he always came back to his roots of country music. As a youngster he didn't know anyone who played a musical instrument, but he always wished he could play a guitar so at the age of 17 he went to a pawn shop and bought a cheap guitar for $25 and a Mel Bay beginner guitar book and started learning chords on his own. After learning several songs he would get bored playing by himself and put the guitar in the closet for months at a time. Then in 1998 he packed up his family and moved to Oklahoma where his mother-in-law, who was a big country music fan and used to play guitar and sing, talked him into going to a music show in Oilton at the senior citizens center and bringing his guitar and singing a song. After that Randy began going to many of the senior citizen centers that had music shows and played along and sang. This is when he began to realize his interest in the bass guitar. In 2003 he had to have hip replacement surgery and while he was off his two sons got together and got him a bass guitar and he began practicing. Since then he has played with various senior center bands and shows as well as other groups. A few years back the drummer for The Country Misfits in Terlton, Ok. became very ill and could no longer play, so one night Randy sat in and tried his hand at the drums and now you can find him at Terlton Senior Center on any givin Thursday night playing drums in at least the last set, and he is always willing to play drums for anyone who needs him if he is available.   For the past 5 years he has been playing bass and M C ing for the Sand Springs River Ramblers at the Sand Springs Senior Center twice a month as well as for the Country Sunshine Band at the Sapulpa Senior Center. Randy was one of the original band members with the group Full Throttle of Drumright, Ok. playing bass guitar, lead vocals and harmony. Now Randy feels very blessed to be a member of Regal Country and welcomes the opportunity to get to play with such a talented group of great guys.
